Summer Fridays and Company Culture

It's been a whirlwind few months here at Kwedar & Co.! We've been buzzing with activity, from welcoming new clients and team members to celebrating life milestones like weddings, graduations, and more. Our calendars have been jam-packed, and there's so much to be grateful for.

During this busy season, we've seen the positive effects of the culture we've diligently cultivated come to life. By providing our team members with the space and support they need, they've been able to log off and be fully present and enjoy these moments.

At the end of the day, we are people first—parents, spouses, friends, and more—and our personal well-being greatly affects our professional lives.

For the second summer in a row, we'll be closing our office early on Fridays so our team can go out and soak up some sun and spend quality time with their loved ones (Fridays May 24-August 16, we will close at 2pm!). Giving them back a little extra time to unwind can do wonders for their mental, physical, and emotional health. And a happy, refreshed team means high quality work and happy clients!

We aren’t sharing this to toot our own horn, but rather provide a behind-the-scenes look at how investing in your company culture can be a game changer for your business. When you create an environment where everyone feels (and actually IS) valued, they are motivated to bring their best to the table.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that a positive company culture doesn’t happen by chance; it’s built intentionally. Creating an environment where team members feel seen, supported, and meaningfully motivated requires deliberate effort and continuous investment.

I encourage you to:

  • Take the time to engage in open and honest conversations with your employees to understand their needs and aspirations.

  • Implement new programs that promote individualized well-being, professional growth, and team collaboration.

  • Regularly search for opportunities to reinvest in your team, whether through training sessions, team-building activities, or flexible work arrangements.

By being proactive and purposeful in your approach, you can foster a culture that not only enhances job satisfaction but also drives the success of your business.

Importantly, no two cultures are alike. What might motivate my team might stifle another. If you're looking to enhance your company culture, begin by listening. I ask the team on a quarterly basis how they want to celebrate our company wins. For team KCo, “time” is consistently the answer. Therefore, programs like Summer Fridays feel like a meaningful reward.

Need a little help? We're here to lend a hand! Our consulting and communication services can support creating a workplace that inspires and motivates your team.

Cheers to a summer filled with joy and rejuvenation.
