Kwedar & Co. 2024 Annual Team Retreat Recap

We’ve just wrapped up our annual retreat, and wow – it was absolutely amazing. Not to brag (okay, maybe just a little), but this team is seriously the best. We had team members join us from all over – Kentucky, Mexico, and of course, right here in Texas – for a few days filled with strategy, bonding, and, yes, a whole lot of laughter. (I’m talking so much laughter that our stomachs and heads actually hurt!)

We kicked things off by diving straight into strategy (of course!) – discussing our collective and individual goals for next year and talking about where we want to grow in our own roles. A lot of hard work went into planning, but we also made sure to carve out time for some fun. Whether it was filming some behind-the-scenes content (stay tuned on our socials – trust me, you’ll want to see this), or just enjoying each other’s company, we made sure to balance work and play.

A few key takeaways from our retreat that I think are worth sharing:

A team that genuinely gets along makes all the difference.

Yep, we really enjoy each other’s company. It’s not just about working together – we genuinely value each other’s unique personalities, talents, and perspectives. That shared energy is what brings all the strategy, planning, and hard work to life. And let’s be honest – having a team that truly gets along makes every project that much more fun. This retreat was a great reminder that company culture matters, and it’s something that should never get pushed to the back burner.

Investing in your people is one of the best investments you can make.

One of the best parts of this retreat was taking the time to focus on our team’s growth, both professionally and personally. Investing in your people is about giving them the tools, time, and space to grow, collaborate, and connect. I felt that we all walked away with a renewed sense of purpose and excitement about what’s to come, and that’s all thanks to the incredible individuals on our team!

Slowing down to speed up is key.

Our team has nearly tripled this year, which is amazing, but it also means there’s a lot of moving parts. It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of growth and momentum, but taking the time to slow down, regroup, and make sure we’re aligned has been a super important part of this season of business for us. By taking a step back, we made sure we’re all on the same page, ready to hit the ground running for the rest of the year and start the new year off strong!

A huge thank you to the entire team for making this retreat such a memorable experience. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do and how important it is to invest in the people behind the work.
