A New Look for Kwedar PR
When is the right time to invest in your corporate brand? And how do you know when it’s time for a change?
Ever since partnering with Nicole Ellis of BBN Agency, I knew a day would come when it would be time to get her incredible expertise for myself. After walking past our business cards side by side many times a day, and after reaching new milestones together, I finally felt ready to invest in a new corporate look for Kwedar PR.
Back in 2017 when I was starting Kwedar PR, I downloaded a stock vector logo from Adobe Stock and made it my own, embracing the watercolor flourish and the typewriter-esque K. It worked for me, and I always got good feedback.
But, frankly, I outgrew it, and it was time that our business brand truly reflect who we are and where we’re going.
I love what Nicole created - an image that portrays smart sophistication through a refined feminine aesthetic that speaks to our audience; a design personality that is mature with a hint of playfulness, professional but never stuffy, warm (people come first), and refined but never out of reach.
We'll share more as we continue to roll this new look out, but for now, enjoy! If you have any questions about leveling-up, or how I knew it was time for an upgrade, let me know.
P.S.
I told Nicole I wanted something special in the logo for the people who pay attention. Notice anything? The correct answer is that there is a pen nib in the A. I’ve also heard that it looks like a perfectly-centered pendulum - and I love that imagery. A friend also told me that she felt it looked like a bridge, which I often serve as. While it’s in the eye of the beholder, the pen has personal significance. Nicole wrote: “During our initial meeting, we discussed the idea of incorporating a hidden message in the logo, and our team couldn't think of anything better than the tip of a pen. Pens hold special significance to Lauren and her dad, as well as signify the beautiful words that she writes for her clients through brand messaging, PR, and marketing efforts.” Scroll down for the pen backstory!
Excerpt from my 40 Under 40 interview last year:
“Tell us about your photo shoot prop.
I’m holding a family heirloom – a Parker pen that my dad handed down to me that once belonged to his father, and that I’ll pass down to my children one day. The pen symbolizes a family belief in clear, honest communication, that words have meaning, and that we must choose them wisely. Also, life is too short for inferior writing implements.”
